School Games

The Sainsbury's School Games is a unique opportunity to motivate and inspire millions of young people across the country to take part in more competitive school sport. The Games are made up of four levels of activity: competition in schools, between schools, at county/area level and a national event for the most talented school age athletes.

School Games Benefits

There are many benefits to schools that are involved in the Sainsbury's School Games. These include:

Manchester Programme

MCR Active Schools programme directly supports the delivery of competition in schools. The Coaching & Instruction Service prepares young people to participate in school sport with access to Level 1 competitions delivered on school site. All services support young people to progress through the competition pathway developing sport specific skills and confidence to compete at Level 2 and Level 3 Events.

The Manchester School Games Organisers deliver the Sainsbury's School Games and Change4Life programmes. Affiliation to the ‘PE Association’ gives unlimited entry into the inter-school programme, which also includes a variety of competitions which are outside the School Games.
