Quality Assurance Framework

The Council has established a framework for accreditation and quality assurance. All providers on the Active Schools framework will achieve the ‘Perfect 10’ Manchester KITEMARK, which has been designed to accredit all providers of sport services to schools. This has been developed to primarily protect the safety of children and young people and to improve quality of provision.

Organisations will be encouraged to obtain the KITEMARK, but will not be a compulsory requirement outside of the council’s Active Schools Service. The council will promote the KITEMARK to all schools who will then make an informed decision on the commission of external providers to delivery PE and School Sport.

The Active Schools commissioning framework will aim to provide a list of quality assured providers. All Active School providers are required to meet all service requirements set out in MCC ‘Perfect 10’ KITEMARK (see appendix 1).

MCR Active Schools Service will aim to assess all staff delivering on the Active Schools programme.

Independent coach / tutor assessors will be commissioned to complete individual workforce assessments to measure the quality of service delivery to support MCC and Providers to raise standards of delivery on all programmes.

Workforce assessment reports will be completed and shared with schools on the service.

MCRActive Schools team is committed to developing a high quality workforce and will work with all MCR approved providers to raise standards with investment into training and education programmes to support CPD of staff.
