SOKKA.Planet has been designed with three core principle

Assess

Assess and track the children’s physical literacy and activity levels, which will enable schools to better develop a child’s physical literacy journey, delivering the greatest benefit.

Empower

Empower teachers with the resources, knowledge, confidence and skills to deliver engaging physical activity sessions

Inspire

Inspire children to develop positive, life-lasting attitudes towards a physical active lifestyle

Its uniqueness is that SOKKA.PLANET is a modular, evidence-based intervention that can be tailored to a primary school’s individual needs. These modules are:

Resources

  • The SOKKA.PLANET school programme provides a full scheme of work (lessons plans) via the SOKKA.NET that are available to the teaching staff with objectives and learning outcomes linked to the national curriculum
  • Certificates are presented at the end of the programme, dependant on individual achievements
  • On-line booking available, with access to on-line risk assessments, scheme of work, certificates, programme evaluation, child assessment forms, and activity information
  • Leaders, activities, child-personal-best logbook and certificates provided, and equipment loan as required

"The MCR SOKKA programme was completely different to what our pupils have experienced before, with in digital machines testing there fitness and sporting ability. All the sessions were enjoyed by all pupils and staff and the activities engaged our whole school and even those pupils that never take part in PE or after school clubs.

The sessions were very intense and fast paced, but all activities were enjoyable so pupils did not realise how much exercise they were doing. A really great experience for all our pupils and one that was both educational and fun. All pupils completed the online educational module and learnt about healthy foods. The weekly activity programme was also well received, with all pupils enjoying 1 hour of multi sport activity per week.

We look forward to SOKKA coming back into the school at the end of the term for all our pupils to take part in their final circuit with certificates and a presentation to recognise the lifestyle changes and successes of our pupils."
