Active Sports Programme is an annual school sport coaching and instruction service with a lead specialist deliverer. The service provides schools with a multi sport specialist coaching programme, delivering a minimum of one sport/activity each half-term, with one hour delivery per week (38 week programme). MCC manages the programme on behalf of schools, commissioning lead specialist coach / instructors to support school staff to deliver PE and School Sport. All programmes can include in-curricular and extra-curricular.

There is an option to buy additional Active Sport Services (extra sessions) to suite your requirements.

Professional learning is available for school staff, subject to availability, for National Governing Body Courses to sustain the delivery of school sport.

"The Active Sport sessions have been a great success this year with pupils experiencing new sports and multi skills activities for the first time, with high quality coaches delivering all sessions. The Taekwondo programme was a new sport for our pupils this year, teaching them about the disciplines of martial arts in a fun and controlled environment. Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the programme and one pupil in particular used the active schools voucher and become a member of Newall Green Community Club. The pupil now attends the club regularly and has taken part in three competitions to date. She has progressed through the disciplines and is soon to grade for her blue belt which she is very excited about. I think it is a really good example of how successful Active Schools can be and 12 months on the pupil is still enthusiastic and engaged in the sport."

"Manchester Baseball Club (MBC) would Like to thank MCR Active Schools service, for the opportunity to deliver baseball/softball to primary aged children. Manchester Baseball club (MBC) delivers its promise. Working with MCR Active School team the club has introduced baseball/softball to the first 5 primary schools in the Manchester Area. In the Spring Term, pupils at Ashbury Meadow, The Divine Mercy, Gorton Mount, Moston Lane and Old Hall Drive Primary School accessed an 8 week after school coaching programme where pupils developed new skills and enjoyed a new sporting experience."

"All pupils have put these skills into action and progressed to participate in their first school softball/baseball competition held at Platt Lane Complex."

"It's been an honour to work with these children the enthusiasm they have shown has been a credit to them and their schools. This competition had been a great success it really moved the children up a level. We look forward to continuing this relationship and building on this programme in the future."
