MCR Active Education service will support schools to deliver High Quality Physical Education and we believe there are three pillars to success in our schools

Active Education Programme – Continued Professional Development.

Active Education Programme is a professional training and education service targeted at Manchester Primary Schools.

The service will provide one to one mentoring support and training to primary school staff offering bespoke mentoring support and qualifications to deliver high quality PE and School Sport.

The service will include Active IQ, Edexcel and AfPE teacher training qualifications to provide staff with a range of recognised qualifications that will increased knowledge, expertise and confidence in physical education and school sport.

The service will be bespoke and tailored around school needs.

Active Schools will deploy tutors to deliver onsite mentoring and training support for teachers and school staff.

The training programme will be tailored around the Active IQ, Edexcel and AfPE course criteria and delivered in-line with the PE and School Sport timetable.

The service will deliver a minimum of one term, a 12 week programme, tailored around the needs of school with focus areas of development aligned to qualification choice. Our instructor’s and teachers will work intensively with school staff with mentoring support and teaching assessment to monitor development and evidence learning outcomes.

All school staff will be provided with teacher training logbooks which will be used as a training aid to support and track the development of staff and impact on pupils. School impact reports will be completed at the end of the term to measure service outcomes.

The MCR Active Education service will support all Manchester schools to achieve high quality physical education and school sport; contributing to the attainment and achievement of all young people. As well as providing a range of additional benefits for every school involved.
